The Impact Programme drives value back to Māori in two critical areas. Workforce and Innovation. Following four years of engagement with Māori and Iwi groups all around the country, and agreement with the Crown, the message has been clear: Māori and Iwi want high-value jobs and businesses that give our people options and provide exciting opportunities to individuals, their whānau, communities and Iwi. We want to contribute significantly and measurably to our country's economy and future position on the world stage. We want our people to flourish.

 

During 2025 and 2026, our Impact Programme will have delivered the following to Māori who are interested in, or already on engineering, technical and leadership pathways. In a nutshell, we're delivering the following:

• Launched a fully fitted out working Lab with a private 5G network, tools and equipment for innovators and learners to use

• Launched an online Workforce Platform by June '25 for our Future Maori Leaders to access a raft of learning and training, and to help them build their community

• 50 plus courses, workshops and webinars

• 12 University level scholarships for upcoming electrical and electronic engineers

• 20 vocational level scholarships for technical, leadership and innovation programmes

• Over 300 Māori will have participated in our programmes

• 10 Founders will have participated in our Innovation Programme

• Access to our Sister Hub network for specialisations that other hubs, accelerators, incubators and labs offer

• We measure every step of the way for outcomes that prove we are growing a vibrant, skilled workforce and we are helping Founders fast-track their commercial pathways

• Our Impact team to support our Future Maori Leaders and Innovators are all Te Reo speakers and have "lived" experience in their Māori worlds
