About the role

As a Māori Graduate / Junior Network Operations Engineer, you’ll work alongside experienced network engineers to help monitor, operate, and support our network and supporting platforms. You’ll gain hands‑on exposure to real‑world service provider technologies while developing practical skills in troubleshooting, incident management, and automation. Over time, the focus of the role shifts from performing routine operational tasks to improving and automating them, helping reduce manual intervention and improve network reliability

What success looks like

  • Within 3–6 months: confidently supporting network monitoring and incident response with guidance

  • Within 6–12 months: contributing to service improvements and basic automation tasks

  • Over time: progressing toward independent network or automation engineering capability

We’d love to see

  • A relevant qualification (Computer Science, IT, Telecommunications, or similar), or equivalent practical experience

  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, routing, DNS)

  • Some familiarity with Linux or command‑line environments

  • Interest in automation, scripting, or DevOps‑style tooling

  • A strong desire to learn and develop a long‑term career in network or infrastructure engineering

  • Exposure to Python, Ansible, APIs, Git, or service provider networking is helpful but not essential.
